Tropical Storm Maring Updates

  • After passing close or over the islands in the Babuyan Archipelago, Severe Tropical Storm “MARING” will continue to move westward over the Luzon Strait and the West Philippine Sea throughout the forecast period. It is forecast to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) this morning or afternoon. Outside the PAR, “MARING” will maintain a westward heading and is likely to make landfall in the vicinity of Hainan, China tomorrow evening.
  • Within the next 36 hours, the storm is forecast to gradually intensify but is becoming less likely to reach the typhoon category prior to making landfall over Hainan Island.

PIONEER ANNOUNCES THE WINNERS OF “PINTA NG TIBAY” PINTURA CHALLENGE 2021

Team Out of Town Blog Hub (www.outoftownblog.com) – From nearly 1,000 registered contestants and 370 submitted entries from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, five boat designers emerged as winners in Pioneer’s “Pinta ng Tibay” Pintura Challenge 2021.

Willam Sillar from Masbate was declared Overall Champion in Pioneer’s “Pinta ng Tibay” Pintura Challenge 2021. The other winners of this year’s contest include Abduljamal Asnani of Zamboanga City (2nd Place), Hesam Sahi of Cebu City (3rd Place), Julius Pablo of Aurora (4th Place), and Josmar Lauron of Cebu City (5th Place). Winners received a total of P300,000 in prizes.

Pioneer Adhesives, the leading brand Pioneer Epoxy manufacturer, ran Pinta ng Tibay Pintura Challenge, design challenge contest from May 4 to June 30, and extended it to July 16 with the theme “Pyesta ng Bangkang Makulay at Matibay 2021”. The competition rules required contestants to use Pioneer Marine Quick Dry Enamel (PMQDE) and Pearl Glaze as paint, or a combination of both, for the entire boat.

Winners were deliberated with a DTI representative using the following Criteria for Judging: Creativity (30%), Relevance to Theme (30%), Color Combination (30%), and Overall Impression (10%).

Despite the whole world living in challenging times, Filipino boat makers and boat owners showcased “Kulay” through their artistry and “Tibay” through their resilience. Pioneer Adhesives looks forward to another year of showcasing creativity and craftsmanship with “Pinta ng Tibay” Pintura Challenge 2022.

Pioneer’s “Pinta ng Tibay” Pintura Challenge is an annual competition that aims to promote and showcase the entire wooden boat building industry in the Philippines. It is open to builders and manufacturers of racing, fishing, recreational, passenger, and tourist boats.
