Manila, Philippines – Work in city government offices in Manila is suspended on Thursday, June 30, 2022. Mayor Isko Moreno declared the special non-working holiday to give the Manila residents the full opportunity to witness and welcome this significant event in the life of the nation.

The City Mayor of Manila, by virtue of the power vested by law, declares June 30, 2022, a special non-working holiday throughout the City of Manila as well as the Manila Police District and all law enforcement officers, including barangay officials, to strictly adopt and implement security measures on said date.

It was 12 years ago when President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo issued Proclamation 2085 which designated June 30, 2010, as a special non-working holiday. That was when the former Senator Benigno Aquino III was inaugurated as the republic’s next president.

The suspension of classes and work in Manila Government offices also aims to provide safety and convenience to the students and government employees.
