Team Out of Town Blog Hub (Outoftownblog.com) – Delegates of the recently held World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) Summit in Manila visited the new terminal of Clark International Airport (CRK) as part of its investment tour.

Luzon International Premiere Airport Development Corporation CEO Ms. Bi Yong Chungunco introduced the new terminal of CRK, which is crucial in achieving CRK’s objective of serving millions of the country’s travelers as well as further pushing economic developments in the region.

CRK is a priority for the LIPAD, which operates and maintains the airport. It is a consortium with the combined expertise of members Filinvest Development Corporation, JG Summit Holdings Inc., Philippine Airport Ground Support Services Inc., Changi Airports Philippines (I) Pte. Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Changi Airports International.

Set to open in May, the new terminal is poised to be a premier Asian gateway, putting the Philippines a competitive player in the aviation business sector and can bring in a multi-billion business for the country.

Mr. Paolo Santos, LIPAD commercial manager, presented the master-planned aviation and logistics complex of CRK to WTTC guests.

After the presentations, delegates toured the terminal which sits on a 110,000 square meter area and which boasts state-of-the-art facilities including the common-use self-service kiosk and self-service drop bags. These are part of the terminal’s bid to digitize operations and limit close contact among passengers and airport employees.

Guests were also briefed on the terminal’s “intelligent” Advanced Visual Docking Guidance System, which allows pilots to park aircraft precisely and safely even in adverse weather conditions, using advanced laser technology. They were also shown some of the airport’s other features, like 18 aerobridges, a dedicated OFW lounge, walk-through commercial spaces, gender-neutral toilets, and elevators and escalators at each boarding gate.

The event held last weekend was organized by the Department of Tourism and the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) and showcased New Clark City and the Clark Freeport Zone as prime investment and tourism destinations.

Team Out of Town Blog Hub (Outoftownblog.com) – The CRK New Terminal is ready to open its gates. The Clark International Airport (CRK) has announced that starting May 2, all flights will depart and arrive at the new terminal building.

Boasting state-of-the-art facilities including superior accessibility, the CRK New Terminal is ready to welcome both domestic and international travelers. Also, with a capacity of 8 million passengers annually, the terminal allows airport users to have the space and breathing room to move with ease.

Clark New Terminal Building Commercial Area

On May 2, 2022, passengers on the following flights are advised to proceed to the new terminal as indicated: Jetstar 3K 779 / 780; Qatar Airways QR 930 / 931; Scoot TR 386 / 387; Emirates EK 338; Cebu Pacific Air 5J 606 / 607; and Philippine Airlines PR 2833 / 2834.

Similarly, all flights scheduled from May 3 onwards will go through the new terminal.

Luzon International Premiere Airport Development (LIPAD), operator and manager of CRK, ensures that there are many ways to get to the airport depending on passenger preference.

Bi Yong Chungunco, CEO of LIPAD, states, “We have put a lot of effort into making our passengers’ journey as seamless as possible through the terminal and getting to and from our airport.

From NLEX-SCTEX, passengers can take the SCTEX Clark North Exit into Clark Freeport Zone. A few meters away will be the first rotunda, where they can take the third exit and straight onto CRK Airport Road.

Those who are already inside the Clark Freeport Zone can take Gil Puyat Avenue towards Mabalacat Gate. There they will reach a roundabout where they can take the first exit towards CRK Airport Road leading straight to the new terminal.

Directions to Clark International Airport New Terminal can also be easily found on mobile apps such as Google Maps and Waze.

Point 2 Point (P2P) bus services from Trinoma and Paranaque City, taxi services from within Pampanga, and other car rental services are also available.

The new terminal boasts a 110,000 square-meter area and will host 18 aerobridges when completed. It features state-of-the-art facilities that situate itself as a premier Asian gateway for tourism and business alike. CRK also features a touchless passenger check-in experience. Self-service, self-check-in kiosks, and self-bag-drop systems are in place for passenger safety and autonomy.

The excellent design of this terminal was in the prestigious Prix Versailles 2021 awards selection in the airport category.

Team Out of Town Blog Hub (Outoftownblog.com) – Leaders of the global tourism industry praised the Philippines’ successful hosting of the 21st Global Summit of the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) as it closed with high hopes for an industry battered by two years of the pandemic.

“I’m not often stumped for words, but I am now. Wow! What an amazing summit. We really have rediscovered travel,” said Julia Simpson, president, and CEO of the WTTC, who considered the “extraordinary Philippine welcome” as her personal highlight of the two-day summit.

“That warmth, that passion, that generosity, that smile. I haven’t walked out one corridor without people saying to me ‘Good morning!’. It’s incredible. You live it. It’s not a show – it really is in your DNA,” she said after the closing ceremony.

In her closing speech, Simpson said the success of the summit was a “testament that the country’s tourism industry is well on its feet.”

The summit, which gathered world leaders of the tourism industry, has given the Philippines the opportunity to showcase “how beautiful the country is,” Tourism Secretary Berna Romulo-Puyat said on Friday.

Julia Simpson, president and CEO of the WTTC says that the success of the summit was “testament that the country’s tourism industry is well on its feet.”

She said the Philippines is now a top-of-mind destination for delegates, many of whom had decided to stay to savor the rest of the country where “we are setting an example of how to open safely.”

“This has been a wonderful global summit and, to echo your brand campaign, we certainly had lots of fun in the Philippines. This is an experience all the delegates of the Summit can definitely attest to,” WTTC Chairman Arnold Donald said in his closing address.

Gloria Guevara, special advisor of Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Tourism and former president and CEO of WTTC, said the Philippines “has exceeded all of our expectations. Thanks to the leadership of Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat before and during the pandemic, the Philippines has been successfully repositioned as a top destination and she delivered an impactful Summit. The Filipino hospitality has also made it memorable.”

Puyat thank the delegates and participants for the success of the summit and for their “outstanding commitment you have shown in support of the recovery and continued growth of the global travel and tourism industry.”

She said that as the pandemic forced the global tourism industry to raise its game and change the way it gets things done, “we have likewise put much effort into discerning the most effective combination between the enforcement of health and safety guidelines and personal convenience – the delicate balancing act of implementing measures to ensure everyone’s safety without placing unreasonable burdens on the traveling public.”

“Our shared hopes and dreams for the future are reflected in the policies we have developed, and the measures we have put in place to plan and realize this sector’s full and complete recovery,” Puyat said.

Citing the need for sustainable tourism, she said the summit also gave way to “passionate advocates for responsible tourism and a greener environment.”

“Our destinations must not be allowed to go back to the old unsustainable ways of the past. Instead, we must move forward guided by strategic and evidence-based planning and aimed towards building further resilience,” she added.

Bus Fare and How to Book

A one-way trip via Solid North P2P Luxury Bus is at P850* per person. To book tickets online, follow the steps provided below:

Step 1: Log on to biyaheroes.com

Step 2: Sign up for an account.

Step 3: Fill out the required details:

Step 5: Print your booking details.

Step 6: Upon arrival at the terminal, present the voucher to the officer for validation.

Step 8: Once onboard, have your voucher checked by the bus attendant and get the official bus ticket in exchange.

Things to Remember:

Arrive at the terminal at least an hour before the scheduled departure.
There will be no refunds made for no-show passengers.
Rebooking is allowed and without fee within 24 hours of reservation. After 24 hours, a 10% rebooking fee applies.
