Team Out of Town Hub (www.OutofTownBlog.com) – Just recently, Cebu Pacific Air, the country’s leading airline, operated a mobile game-themed flight to introduce Tencent Games PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) MOBILE’s newest IP, Phoenix Adarna. An airport and in-flight experience featuring Adarna-inspired costumes, trivia games, and merchandise giveaways made the flight the first of its kind in Southeast Asian aviation history.

PUBG MOBILE players will embark on a series of heroic missions inspired by the Philippine mythological bird Adarna, the fabled creature that heals all ailments. Players must complete missions within a time limit to unlock rewards or purchase in-game currency to become invincible like Adarna, and dress in eye-catching items such as Agent Phoenix Set backpacks, a frame, parachute, and even acquire a buggy. The flight replicates the adventure a hero undergoes in search of this famed fowl.

“We are excited to create this one-of-a-kind experience for our passengers, and the PUBG MOBILE gaming community. As a proudly Filipino carrier, we continue to look for fun ways to promote Philippine culture and tourism. We anticipated this to be the first of several collaborations with industry partners such as Tencent Games,” said Candice Iyog, CEB VP for Marketing and Customer Experience.

Benj Dalmacio, Senior Business Development Manager for PUBG MOBILE Philippines echoes this excitement for this first-of-its-kind collaboration in the Philippines and Southeast Asia: “In PUBG MOBILE, we continue to make the game relevant to our target audience: young adults. The Ibong Adarna, our country’s very own phoenix, symbolizes hope and rebirth and holds a significant place in Philippine literature. We are proud for our platform to become a place of appreciation and learning of Filipino culture as well as helping in promoting the Philippine tourism industry. We are honored to partner with the country’s leading airline as they recognize the growing gaming community and live up to their fun brand.”

Gaming video creators Rojean Delos Reyes and Dexie Diaz represented PUBG MOBILE and Cebu Pacific as official campaign ambassadors. Both known in their gaming circles as adventurous and passionate, the ladies embody the fiery spirit of the Phoenix Adarna.

PUBG MOBILE will blast a special seat sale exclusively communicated to the Filipino gaming community and raffle free domestic and international round-trip flights, courtesy of Cebu Pacific, in various community events throughout June.

Aside from Cebu, tourist destination favorite Boracay will be the venue of offline events, with the appearance of a pop-up gaming truck for a battle royale game with top PUBG MOBILE players and meet-and-greets. The island will also become the nesting place of Phoenix Adarna, with tourists spotting from afar tour boats, parasails, giant sandcastles, beach flags, kayaks, and gliders bearing the theme.

CEB continues to offer its guaranteed low fares to stimulate travel across its widest domestic network, with multiple flights to top Philippine destinations, such as Boracay and Cebu, operating 16x daily from Manila. It continues to implement a multi-layered approach to safety, while it operates with a 100%

fully vaccinated crew, 95% of whom have been boosted – all to ensure every Juan flies safely and conveniently on Cebu Pacific. For more information, visit www.cebupacificair.com.

Phoenix Adarna items, with their bright plumage, will be available for PUBG MOBILE gamers until June 30.

PUBG MOBILE is available for free on the App Store and Google Play Store.

DOT touts ‘future farms’ as new and sustainable tourist attractions

Diaspora Farm Resort innovated the use of volcanic soil in growing their high-value crops.

Team Out of Town Hub (www.OutofTownBlog.com) – The Department of Tourism (DOT) recently launched “Future Farms”, a digital campaign to promote farm tourism, one of the sector’s promising gems, and to offer pandemic-weary travelers a refreshing environment and new experiences.

With the relaxing ambiance and scenery of Vita Isola Leisure Farm, tourists can slow down and escape the noise of the cities. Visitors can experience both relaxation and learning with their farm tours and recreational activities.

“Future Farms” is the fruit of the government agency’s efforts to redevelop tourism products and seek out new types of destinations and activities for travelers in the new normal.

Since 2018, the DOT has been strengthening the development and promotion of farm tourism as a major tourism product. It supports stakeholders in innovating and diversifying farm sites around the country to include recreational and leisure activities for tourists in addition to food and wellness.

Agriya lets you experience feeding livestock and farm animals, a rich farm experience for adults and children.

This innovation allows farm owners to maximize the potential of their property, employ more people, and give tourists more destinations to discover and agri-tourism products to enjoy.

The Farm Tourism campaign introduces a series of videos of must-see farms possessing unique characteristics of a ‘’future farm” —  innovative, scenic,  product-centric, and machine-oriented. The farms to be featured are located all over the Philippines and include sites such as Diaspora Farm and Resort in Bacolor, Pampanga, Amancio Nicolas Agri-Tourism Academy in Cordon, Isabela, Yamang Bukid in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, Orchard Valley Farm in Pavia, Iloilo, Vita Isola Leisure Farm in Loon, Bohol, Damires Hills Tierra Verde in Janiuay, Iloilo, Taglucop Strawberry Hills in Kitaotao, Bukidnon, Agriya Farm in Panabo City, Davao del Norte, and JB Nature Farm & Resort in Sukailang, Surigao City.

DOT positions New Clark City as premier tourism investment hub

New Clark City

Team Out of Town Hub (www.OutofTownBlog.com) – The Department of Tourism (DOT) is rooting on the development of the Clark Freeport Zone (CFZ) and the New Clark City in order to further boost the recovery of the country’s tourism industry.

During the first Central Luzon Tourism Investment Summit and Business Exchange (CLTISBEX) Hybrid Edition held recently at Hilton Clark Sun Valley Resort, the DOT, in collaboration with the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) and the Subic-Clark Alliance for Development (SCAD), showcased how CFZ and the New Clark City may be positioned as premier tourism hubs, Clark as a modern sustainable aerotropolis and a preferred MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibits) destination and the New Clark City as an ideal destination for Sports Tourism in the Asia-Pacific Region.

DOT 3 Regional Director Caroline Uy in her opening remarks said that through the help of the private sector, the goal is to transform the CFZ into a preferred business and tourism destination in the Asia Pacific region and enable investors to find long-term economic returns

DOT 3 Regional Director Caroline Uy, said, “through the help of the private sector, the goal is to transform the Clark Freeport Zone into a preferred business and tourism destination in the Asia Pacific region and enable investors to find long-term economic returns.”

Clark is strategically located in Pampanga where it could be easily accessed by the Philippines’ major foreign tourist markets like China, HongKong SAR, Singapore, South Korea, and Japan.

There were a total of 35 foreign and local investors from the Philippines (5), China (25), Singapore (2), Japan (1), Taiwan (1), and the United Arab Emirates (1) that participated in the summit.

The event concluded with a total of P127 million investment leads, mostly generated during the Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings among 77 buyers and sellers.

As of December 31, 2021, Clark is already home to some 1,153 companies which are also referred to as locators. These business ventures provided opportunities to a total of 121,341 professionals and workers inside the Freeport zone which originally employed only 20,000 workers at the time of its opening.

In terms of exports, CFZ has since generated a total export of $5.40 billion with a total investment of P265 billion.

Following the recent opening of Clark International Airport’s new passenger terminal, Puyat said this will generate more gains for the industry, especially now that the DOT is also positioning Clark as a MICE-destination.

Uy specifically noted that as a MICE venue, CFZ offers 80 convention/meeting halls, 3,648 hotel rooms, 126 dining facilities, and 45 tourism attractions such as Clark Safari, Clark Bike Path, Clark Museum and Theater, Aqua Planet, Clark International Speedway, and Dinosaurs Island.
